autumn colourBuilt in 1857, Garroorigang is the private home of the Hume family, collateral descendants of explorer Hamilton Hume.

Life first as an Inn on the road to the gold fields, then for twenty years a private boarding school for the "Sons of Gentlemen" and a gracious private home since 1868 has left Garroorigang filled with an extraordinary and rare collection of historical items and family memorabilia.

The history of over 157 years has been carefuly preserved in this historic home.

Family members provide guided tours for groups and individuals through the homestead, telling visitors about the history and stories behind particular items, giving young and old a remarkable insight into daily life over the past 157 years.

The extensive grounds, filled with majestic trees and beds of lilacs, roses and flowering bulbs set in sweeping lawns, provide a memorable setting for weddings and other events.

Morning and afternoon tea in the garden can be arranged for group visits and coach tours.

Bed & Breakfast accommodation for up to four people in an old world setting is also available by arrangement.
